Policy Statement
Eco Ridge Services is committed to ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of all employees, contractors, clients, visitors, and members of the public who may be affected by our work activities. We regard the promotion of health and safety as a core business objective and essential to the success of our operations.
Our Commitments
Eco Ridge Services is committed to:
- Complying with all relevant health and safety legislation, regulations, and approved codes of practice
- Providing and maintaining safe working environments across all our operations and sites
- Providing adequate resources to implement this policy effectively
- Ensuring all employees are competent to perform their work safely
- Providing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) where required
- Maintaining plant, equipment, and tools in safe working condition
- Continually improving our health and safety performance
Risk Assessment
We undertake thorough risk assessments for all our work activities. Our approach includes:
- Identifying hazards associated with our work activities
- Assessing the level of risk and who may be affected
- Implementing appropriate control measures to eliminate or reduce risks
- Recording significant findings and communicating them to relevant personnel
- Reviewing assessments regularly and updating them as necessary
- Producing comprehensive RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements) for all project works
Safe Systems of Work
We implement safe systems of work including:
- Method statements for all significant work activities
- Permit-to-work systems for high-risk activities
- Safe isolation procedures for work on electrical and mechanical systems
- Procedures for working at height, including scaffolding and access equipment
- Manual handling guidelines and equipment provision
- COSHH assessments for hazardous substances
Training and Competence
We ensure all personnel are suitably trained and competent by:
- Providing induction training to all new employees and contractors
- Ensuring all personnel hold appropriate qualifications and certifications for their roles
- Providing ongoing training to maintain and develop competence
- Maintaining records of training and qualifications
- Supervising personnel to ensure safe working practices
Site Safety
On all our sites we:
- Conduct site-specific inductions for all personnel
- Maintain safe access and egress routes
- Implement appropriate site security measures
- Provide adequate welfare facilities
- Ensure clear signage and hazard warnings
- Conduct regular site inspections
- Take particular care when working in occupied premises and around vulnerable persons
Accident and Incident Reporting
We have procedures in place for reporting and investigating accidents and incidents:
- All accidents, incidents, and near misses must be reported promptly
- Investigations are conducted to identify root causes and prevent recurrence
- RIDDOR-reportable incidents are notified to the appropriate authority
- Lessons learned are communicated across the organisation
Consultation and Communication
We consult with employees on health and safety matters and encourage open communication. All personnel are encouraged to raise health and safety concerns and contribute to improving our safety performance.
Monitoring and Review
This policy is reviewed annually to ensure it remains effective. We monitor our health and safety performance through inspections, audits, and analysis of accident and incident data.
